About Ford EcoSport

The Ford EcoSport is a subcompact crossover SUV. It was initially manufactured in the country of Brazil by Ford Brazil since 2003. The first generation (2004-2012) was based on the European Ford Fiesta and European Ford Fusion models. The EcoSport was one of Ford's top sellers in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela. The 2nd generation model (2013-present) was based on the 2011 Fiesta B2E platform and it was sold globally. The platform of the second generation is Ford global B-car, and they offer manual, automatic and DCT transmission options.
The Ford EcoSport has an array of stylish interior options and is a great view from any angle. The base engine in the Ford EcoSport is a variation of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost turbo-three also found in the Fiesta and Focus cars. In the 2018 EcoSport, the engine makes 123 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque and is only available with front-wheel drive. A 2.0-liter I-4 is optional on all-wheel-drive models, making 166 hp and 149 lb-ft. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The EcoSport is a small SUV with room for four adults and handling that's refreshingly fun for a high-riding car with relatively city-friendly dimensions. As for safety, it is featured with Ford SYNC driver connect system, a command system co-developed with Microsoft. Overall, you'll love this small SUV for its cool looks and agile handling.

Ford EcoSport Common Problems and Maintenance Tips

The 2014 EcoSport model has had the most overall issues. We will provide you with more details for some of the different model years.
The 2018 EcoSport has an issue with the brakes screeching and grinding as reported by vehicle owners. This is one of the most common complaints about brakes. The brake noise can be annoying, but it can also alert you that you may need service. It's best to play it safe and have brake noises checked by a trusted mechanic or local dealer.
Some EcoSport models fitted with a Powershift automatic transmission may exhibit excessive transmission clutch shudder during light acceleration. This condition may be caused by fluid contamination of the clutch due to leaking transmission input shaft seals, which over time may degrade shift quality of the dry clutches. If you are experiencing this issue with your vehicle, contact your local Ford dealer.
Falling gas mileage is a common complaint. Your gas mileage is very dependent on the maintenance of your engine. Regular oil changes, replacing your engine air filter and changing your spark plugs will all make sure your car gets the most miles per gallon. The fuel mixture and fuel efficiency are affected by oxygen sensor and air filters, and make sure your parts are in the best conditions.
