About Ford Freestyle

Ford Freestyle, as a Crossover Utility Vehicle, was produced by the great American multinational automaker Ford Motor Company from 2004 to 2007. Introduced to replace the Ford Taurus station wagon, Ford Freestyle combined the maneuverability of a wagon, the versatility of a minivan and the all-weather capability of an SUV and had been nominated for the "North American Truck of the Year" award for 2005. But when Taurus made its return for 2008 model year, Ford Freestyle was rebadged as the Taurus X.
Before Ford Freestyle entered production for the 2005 model year, its concept vehicle was previewed at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. When it was finally introduced as a CUV, a new market segment at the time, it featured a single one body style and spacious cabin that offers lots of cargo room and seating up to seven passengers. Ford Freestyle was offered in several different trim levels: base SE, mid-level SEL and top-of-the-line Limited. Its power comes from a 3.0 L Duratec V6 engine that sends 207 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque through a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) to either the front of all four wheels. The Freestyle, along with the Five Hundred, Mercury Montego and the Ford Escape Hybrid, was the first American Ford vehicles to use CVT.
